Proper Brushing and Flossing Techniques
Achieving optimal oral health begins with practicing correct brushing and flossing methods. Using the right techniques ensures effective removal of plaque and bacteria from your teeth and gums.
When brushing, opt for a soft-bristled toothbrush and fluoride toothpaste. Hold the brush at a 45-degree angle to your gum line and move it in gentle circular motions. Remember to cover all surfaces of your teeth, including the front, back, and chewing areas.
Besides brushing, flossing plays a crucial role in maintaining good oral hygiene. Take about 18 inches of dental floss and wrap it around your index fingers, leaving a small gap for flossing between them.
Gently slide the floss between each tooth, moving it up and down in a C-shaped motion. This technique helps remove plaque from difficult-to-reach areas that brushing alone cannot reach.
